I didn't start using sunscreen early enough and now I regret the damage

How to answerEmphasize it's never too late to start sun protection and show visible improvements from consistent use at any age.

    Not starting sunscreen earlier!

This product broke me out or made my skin worse

    risk
    4

How to answerOffer samples, clear ingredient lists, and easy returns so customers can test compatibility before committing.

Cetaphil & CeraVe products did more harm than good for me. Just ended up with irritated, dried out & tight feeling skin. Plus sooooo many breakouts.

Everyone raves about this but it did absolutely nothing for my skin

    fit
    4

How to answerSet realistic expectations about results varying by skin type and offer personalized recommendations based on concerns.

The Ordinary Niacinamide + Zinc. Does absolutely nothing, and I'm saying this after using it daily for years. Also, anything oil-based. I have extremely oily skin, so no oil-based retinoids, unless I want to feel like a melting wax figure.

I damaged my skin by over-exfoliating and using too many actives at once

    risk
    4

How to answerProvide clear usage instructions, starter routines, and education on how to layer products safely without overdoing it.

Over exfoliating. I absolutely destroyed my skin barrier. 😭

My skin reacts badly to niacinamide even though it works for everyone else

    fit
    4

How to answerClearly label niacinamide concentration and offer alternative products for sensitive skin that achieve similar benefits.

Anything containing niacinamide. I am one of the few whose skin reacts badly to it - red and blotchy and itchy like a bad rash.

I wasted money on expensive products before learning what actually works

    price
    4

How to answerOffer educational content upfront and affordable starter sets so customers learn basics without expensive mistakes.

Spending money on skincare before I spent time learning the basics about what it was for. And spending money on skincare when I wasn't applying or reapplying sunscreen regularly.

  7. 07

I bought products without checking ingredients and they weren't right for me

    effort
    4

How to answerMake ingredient lists prominent, explain what each does, and offer skin type filters to simplify product selection.

not really a trend, but I do regret buying skincare products without checking the ingredient list on the back of it, I used to be so clueless about what skincare product is suitable for my sensitive skin

  8. 08

I got caught up in trends and bought things that didn't suit my skin

    trust
    4

How to answerFocus on science-backed ingredients over hype and help customers identify their actual needs versus trending products.

Trying to keep up with skincare trends and using too many actives at once. Was dealing with constant allergies and chemical irritation/burns in my early 20s. My progress was slow because I always had to start/stop routines.

I damaged my skin by picking at it instead of using proper treatments

    alternative
    4

How to answerOffer effective spot treatments with clear instructions and emphasize gentle alternatives to physical intervention.

This isn’t really skincare (more like the opposite) but I went through a compulsive picking phase about 10 year ago. My face has recovered nicely but I compulsively picked at one scab smack dab in the middle of my chest for months while sitting in stressful traffic on my…

CeraVe and Cetaphil dried out my skin and caused breakouts

    fit
    2

How to answerAcknowledge that gentle doesn't mean universal and offer alternative formulations for different skin sensitivities.

Cetaphil & CeraVe products did more harm than good for me. Just ended up with irritated, dried out & tight feeling skin. Plus sooooo many breakouts.
