How to pick an Instagram giveaway winner

Paste the post link Any public post or reel. The picker collects up to 100 top-level comments plus replies per run. Choose how many winners you want before loading the entries. Private accounts, hidden comments and deleted comments stay unavailable.

Set the entry rules One entry per person stops multi-commenters from stacking the odds. Require an @mention or a hashtag if those were your entry conditions. Skip replies when only top-level comments qualify, and exclude your own account or any partner accounts that cannot win.

Handle duplicate comments The one entry per person rule keeps the first eligible comment from each account. Turn it off only when your published rules let one person earn several entries by leaving several qualifying comments.

Apply tag and hashtag requirements Must tag a friend looks for an @mention in the comment. The required text field accepts a word or hashtag. Turn on both when an entry must include a tag and your campaign hashtag.

Draw and keep a record Draw one or several winners, open each winning comment, and copy the handles or the full draw record. Download the filtered entrant list as CSV so you can keep the eligible pool with your campaign records.

Instagram giveaway picker FAQ

How do I pick a random comment winner on Instagram?

Paste the public Instagram post or Reel link, choose how many winners you need, and load the entries. Set rules such as one entry per person, no replies, a required friend tag or a required hashtag. Then press Draw. The picker selects from the eligible comments and links each winner back to the winning comment.

Is the draw fair?

Yes. Winners come from your browser's cryptographic random number generator, not from a server. Every eligible entry has the same chance in that draw. The result shows when the draw happened, and you can copy a draw record or download the eligible entries as CSV.

Is it free?

Yes. Loading a post and drawing winners is free, and you can draw again as often as you like once the comments are loaded. Without an account, loading comments is limited to a few posts per week per visitor.

Does it work without logging in to Instagram?

Yes. Paste a public post or Reel link without connecting an Instagram account. The picker does not ask for your Instagram username or password, nothing is posted, and the creator is not notified. Private posts remain private and cannot be used.

How many comments does it collect?

Up to 100 top-level comments plus their replies per run. For posts with thousands of entries, the Adlicio app pulls deeper, replies included.

Can I require a friend tag or a hashtag?

Yes. Turn on Must tag a friend to keep only comments with an @mention. Enter a word or hashtag in the required text field to keep only comments that contain it. You can apply both rules together, and the eligible count updates before you draw.

How does one entry per person handle duplicate comments?

One entry per person is on by default. It keeps the first eligible comment from each Instagram account and removes that person's later comments from the draw. Turn the rule off when your giveaway allows every qualifying comment to count as a separate entry.

Can I pick several Instagram giveaway winners at once?

Yes. Choose 2, 3, 4, 5 or 10 winners before loading the entries, then draw them together from the same eligible pool. You can also draw again. A repeat draw excludes the people who already won, so the next result uses the remaining eligible entrants.

Can I export the Instagram giveaway entrant list as CSV?

Yes. After the comments load, apply your entry rules and download the eligible list as a CSV. The file contains the entrants that remain after duplicate, reply, mention, required text and excluded account rules are applied, giving you a record of the pool used for the draw.

Does the Instagram giveaway picker work on Reels?

Yes. It works with public Instagram posts and public Reels. Paste the Reel link just as you would paste a photo or carousel post link. It cannot load a private Reel, a private account or comments that Instagram or the creator has removed.

Why does it say it is still collecting?

Instagram delivers comments in the background and it can take about a minute. Run the same link again and the comments appear.
