How to connect Reddit to ChatGPT (2026)

Short answer: ChatGPT has no official Reddit plugin. Its web search shows snippets from a few Reddit pages, and a Reddit link you paste may not open, because sites can block automated readers. To let ChatGPT search Reddit and read whole threads with every comment, add a Reddit connector as a custom MCP plugin. Adlicio is one: in ChatGPT on the web, add https://mcp.tryadlicio.com/mcp under Plugins, sign in, and pick Adlicio with @ in a chat.

We searched ChatGPT's plugin directory for Reddit on October 21, 2026. It showed two third-party plugins, Openhandle and OneUp Today, and none from Reddit itself. The directory can differ by plan and region.
Which ChatGPT plans can add a connector
OpenAI's help page Connecting custom MCP servers in ChatGPT and its pricing page say, as of October 21, 2026:
- Free and Go: custom MCP servers are not included.
- Plus: included. The pricing page still lists it under "Developer mode (beta)", but you no longer need to turn Developer Mode on.
- Pro: OpenAI says Pro users "can connect custom MCP servers with read/fetch permissions".
- Business, Enterprise and Edu: admins and owners add them. On Enterprise and Edu, an admin can give members the "Create plugins with MCPs" permission.
You set the connector up in ChatGPT on the web. OpenAI's FAQ says adding custom MCP servers is web only.
Add Adlicio as your Reddit connector
- Open ChatGPT on the web and go to Plugins.
- Select +, then Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Adlicio and enter
https://mcp.tryadlicio.com/mcpas the server URL. - Choose OAuth, read the risk warning and select I understand and want to continue.
- Select Create as a plugin. Open your personal plugins, install Adlicio and sign in to your Adlicio account.
- In a new chat, type @ and select Adlicio.
https://mcp.tryadlicio.com/mcpSet it up in ChatGPT on the web. On Business, Enterprise and Edu workspaces, an admin can block custom MCP servers. If Adlicio does not show after @, switch the tab at the top of ChatGPT from Chat to Work. ChatGPT can ask you to confirm a tool call; check it and approve it.

Ask ChatGPT about Reddit
Ask the way a customer would type it, and name subreddits when the topic has them:

Questions
Is there an official Reddit app in ChatGPT?
Not as of October 21, 2026. A search of the plugin directory for Reddit shows two third-party plugins and nothing from Reddit. OpenAI and Reddit announced a data partnership in May 2024, but it did not add a Reddit plugin you can install.
Why does ChatGPT not read my Reddit link?
OpenAI's help pages say a website can block ChatGPT from loading a page. When that happens, ChatGPT answers from search snippets or tells you it cannot open the link. A connector fetches the thread on its own servers and hands ChatGPT the comments.
Does it work in the ChatGPT phone app?
Set the connector up on ChatGPT on the web. OpenAI documents custom MCP servers for the web.
Can I use the same connector in Claude?
Yes. Claude and ChatGPT connect to the same Adlicio server and the same account, so your credits and history are shared. See Add Adlicio to Claude.
